Pet Pourri, Party On

There are Tupperware parties, Pampered Chef parties,
sex-toy parties - and now pet parties.

Chicago-based Shure Pets has expanded its network of independent "pet consultants" to more than 425 nationwide since its launch in September 2003. Consultants sell Shure Pets products through in-home parties and one-on-one sessions.

Tamara Radich has been hosting a party a month at her home in Arvada since becoming a Shure Pets consultant less than a year ago. Her parties are small - eight or nine people at most - and pets are welcome. "It's fun to see how people share their love for pets the same way I do mine," Radich says.

Shure Pets' Aromutt Therapy Shampoo has been the most popular product, Radich says. She uses it on her Italian greyhound, which suffers from dry skin. Breed-specific dog bowls and treat jars also are a hit. Choose from more than 70 breeds.
