Shure Pets, the premier direct seller of pet products, is purr-ing with excitement for its Ulti-Mutt Product Invention, a national contest in search for the next revolutionary pet product. This is the purr-fect opportunity whether you’re an innovator who has been fruitless in your marketing efforts, an animal lover who tends to think outside the kennel or a pet owner who has discovered the need for a paw-ticular product from your very own beloved companion animal. Shure Pets is em-barking on a nationwide search to sniff out breakthrough pet product inventions. The Shure Pets product line features a wide variety of unique, high-quality items in seven categories that is available exclusively via our network of independent Pet Consultants. The next big thing in pet products, regardless if it is an improvement on the most mundane item or a revolutionary creation never before conceived, en-tails making a pet’s life easier, healthier and happier.

How to Submit Your Invention
Contestants can submit their ideas by completing the Ulti-Mutt Invention entry form (click here) and mailing it (with product photograph) to Shure Pets, 1556 N. LaSalle St. Chicago, IL 60610. Entries must be submitted by February 28, 2007.

The Judging Process
There are two stages in the Ulti-Mutt Invention: entry level and finalists. All entries will be evaluated by Shure Pets initially based on the innovative idea submitted by the contestant. The submissions will be narrowed down to ten finalists who will each be required to manufacture their invention and ship it to the Shure Pets corporate office in Chicago, IL where it will be reviewed by the Shure Pets Invention Committee.

Criteria De-tails

• The product’s market potential in the pet retail industry.
• Does the product fulfill an unmet need of pet owners or their animal companions?
• Is the product concept unique and original to the pet product market?
• Is the inventor able to manufacture the product as a Shure Pets vendor?
• Is the product consistent with the Shure Pets brand image?
• Are the function and benefit of the product easily marketed to customers?
• Is the product safe for pet owners and their pets?
