    Dear Pet Lover~

    Shure Pets, once again, reached new sales records during the month of November. Our sales for the period were over 210% greater than the same period last year and 22% greater than our previous best month on record (October 2005).

    I am pleased to report that with the significant increase in order activity, we have managed to process all orders within 24 hours and have arranged for shipment on most orders within 24-72 hours (not including backordered items). I would like to personally acknowledge both David and Kristina for working smartly and dedicating the time necessary to make sure that the holiday rush is handled smoothly. My hat is off to our hard working Pet Consultants, their families and the entire Shure Pets Pound!

    I am also excited with the introduction and implementation of our new backend software platform. We have dedicated a great deal of time and resources to developing the best backend program available. We believe that the software will help you grow your Shure Pets business, providing greater efficiency for order entry, tracking of your own sales, bone-uses, team sales and recruits (for more information on backend software, please see below).

    Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you a happy and safe Howl-iday season.

    Shure Pets Events

    Shure Pets, our signature At-Home Pet Parties, and our unique product line were recently featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer and New York's ABC Channel Seven Eyewitness News. The Philadelphia Inquirer article entitled, A Fun Way to Shop for Fido- The latest fetching idea: Pupperware Parties states, "The products are useful. They're versatile. They solve problems that people have...I love that you can do this at someone's house instead of driving to the pet store." The ABC Channel Seven piece said Shure Pets Pupperware Parties are "the latest trend in doggie pampering."     Shure Pets University (SPU): Our Shure Pets University training program meets monthly at the Corporate Office in Chicago, Illinois. This seminar serves as a platform to discuss Shure Pets and trends in the Direct Selling and Pet Industries, as well as offering tips to help you grow, develop and maintain your business. All Pet Consultants are invited and encouraged to attend SPU. If you cannot make a Shure Pets University session but are in the Chicago area and would like to meet "The Pound", please call or email info@shurepets.com to schedule an appointment.

    SPUs are held on the first Tuesday of the month. Please "mark" your calendars for the next Shure Pets University Training Programs held on:

    Back-end Software: It was announced at the 2005 Shure Pets Jam-fur-ee that we are creating a backend software system to help our Pet Consultants with their business. This software will include easier and more efficient order entry, tracking of your own sales and bone-uses, easy tracking of your team sales and recruits, Pet Party and fundraiser order entry, your own purr-sonalized website and much more. We are looking to introduce the system in early January 2006. During the month of January, in place of our regularly scheduled conference calls, we will be conducting web-based training sessions for our new backend software platform. These training sessions will be on Tuesday, January 10th and Tuesday, January 17th at 7:00 pm EST (the same training session will occur on both dates). During these training sessions, please be in front of your computer and make sure your phone is on mute. Only Pet Consultants may attend these training sessions and reservations must be made in advance. Please RSVP to Kristina at kristina.meyer@shurepets.com. These sessions will run you through how to place orders online, how to track your own sales and team sales (genealogy reports) and many other important management tips for your Shure Pets business.

    Howl-iday Ship to Dates: Christmas Last Ship Date: We have been working with our vendors to secure the last date you can order to make "shure" your products reach your customers for the Christmas holiday. For most items, orders received at Shure Pets by December 13, 2005 will guarantee Holiday delivery. Please note the following items have passed the guaranteed holiday ship to dates and we can no longer promise Christmas delivery.

    Lea Pet Consultant of the Month: Lea K. (#0436)

    Lea K. (#0436 Vacaville, CA)is the proud mother of three beautiful Golden Retrievers (Joshua- age 10, Cody- age 12 and Nicki- age 9) and has been the foster mom to over 75 Goldens in the past six years. As a volunteer and member of the board of directors of Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue, Goldens (and mixes) are a huge part of her life. Lea states, "All of our dogs are rescues. I am blessed with a wonderful husband (Whitney) who is so supportive and tolerant of the constant parade of dogs through our home. He is my partner in all things, including our rescue work. And as the owner of Happy at Home Pet Sitting Service, as well as a canine obedience instructor, I happily spend my days with dogs and cats."

Pet Consultants, participating in expos, fairs, events and fundraisers is an excellent way to increase your target customer base and spread the word about your Shure Pets business.     Due to heavy Howl-iday sales, Shure Pets' average order during November increased by nearly 25% over last month to $153.16 Additionally, the average sales generated at a Pet Party grew by 8.8% to $407.96

    Ohio led the way with the greatest number of Pet Parties in November. Pennsylvania, California, Illinois and Indiana held the next greatest number of Pet Parties during the month.

    Tips for Purr-fect Pet Health

    Catnip Crazy:

    • Catnip is a recreational herb for felines which may lead your cat to become playful and energized
    • The names "catnip" and "catmint" are sometimes used interchangeably
    • Catnip is a member of the mint family
    • Catnip has a chemical contained within its stem and leaves called 'nepetalactone'
    • Catnip is a gray-greenish bush about two feet high with small blue flowers
    • Cats react to catnip in various ways including playfulness, rolling and purring (few will get irritated or grouchy and a few cats will have little or no reaction to catnip)
    • The use of catnip is recorded back to Roman times
    • Shure Pets Kit-Tea Kat-nip (#218), Platy Cat (#517) and OctoPal (#512) cat toys all contain catnip

    Howl-iday Tips: Those adorable holiday costumes for your pets (Christmas trees, reindeers etc.) may be cute at family get-togethers or in photos, but pet owners should be wary of costumes which limit vision or have rubber bands to keep them securely in place on the pet. When it's time for holiday meals, be careful of human seasonings and especially of bones and poultry carcasses around pets (poultry bones splinter easily). As soon as bones are placed in a garbage, please take the trash outside of the house so your pet does not break into the garbage snooping for bones. Be careful that your companion animal does not get into holiday tinsel or lights as they may easily become tangled in them. Finally, it is very important to know what plants are being kept in your home at this time of year, as various plants are toxic and could paw-tentially harm your companion animal.

    Pill Popper Treats: Giving dogs their medicine can be a difficult task since they may not be begging to take it. However, they will take their medicine when it is wrapped in an excess of cheese, liver sausage, peanut butter or other yummy snacks. Although your faithful companion will willingly accept that gesture, it is not necessarily good or healthy for your dog. Their digestive system is different than humans and they can not handle those foods, even if they do not show it. When giving your canine his medication, use a healthier, dog friendly treat to put the pill in such as Shure Pets Pill Popper Treats (#226).
