HAVE YOU CONTACTED YOUR PET CONSULTANT TO HOST OR ATTEND A PET PARTY?

    Shure Pets Gazette
The Premier Direct Seller of Pet Products
    Volume IV, November 2006

    Dear Pet Lover~

The holiday season is quickly approaching. We recently introduced our Shure Pets 2007 Cat-alog, increasing our product line by over 20%. The response to the new Cat-alog has been overwhelming. Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Since the Cat-alog dropped, our sales have increased by over 37% from the prior period.

The pet industry is one of the fastest growing segments today in retail. We are the cat-egory innovator and the nation's leader in the distribution of pet products through home parties. I encourage each of you to explore the opportunity and join our growing team as a Pet Consultant (please see the ?Promo Section? at the end of this newsletter), host a party or conduct a fundraiser. We offer a full range of opportunities to all pet lovers. Our only requirement at Shure Pets is a passion for pets! Put your passion to work in an area you enjoy and one that shows consistent growth. We have the tools to help you grow your business including the best products, the latest in technology and providing the best in customer service.

The chill is in the air and the holiday spirit is alive. Consider hosting a Pet Party in the comfort of your home and review the latest in pet products with other passionate pet lovers. Our home parties are fun, social and provide for an educational platform to discuss and exchange ideas about our pets.

In addition to the products introduced in our Cat- alog, we have added holiday items to our line this year that include: The Howl-iday Bear, Ho-Ho Hairball, Santa Jingle Bell Hat and Stockings for you pet. The products are available through your Pet Consultant?s replicated websites (shurepets.com and click on ?Products? to find your local Pet Consultant).

Stating this month, we created a new section of the newsletter focusing on our fundraiser program. David Feld, our Director of Marketing, will highlight successful fundraising activities and results. Since the inception of the program, we have raised thousands of dollars for various organizations throughout the United States. Our fundraisers are available to all nonprofit organizations including pet, church groups, schools etc. Specifically, our fundraisers have raised monies for hundreds of pet related organizations and help pay for vet bills, provide shelter and food. Please let us know about your fundraiser and the impact the money raised had for your organization.

I look forward to working with you during this exciting time and please feel free to forward this newsletter to all interested pet lovers.

Andrew Shure, Shure Pets Founder (andrew.shure@shurepets.com)

    David Shure Pets Fundraisers

The Shure Pets fundraising program continues to increase in visibility and ability to help needy organizations raise funds in a unique, fun, social manner. To set up your Shure Pets fundraiser, please contact your local Pet Consultant and let them know your organization's name, mailing address (for their check), 501(c) tax ID#, and start and end date of your fundraiser. The fundraiser must be conducted in a period of one month or less and there is a $4.00 charge to set up the fundraiser beginning November 9th. The fundraising group will earn 25% commission of all items sold, while the Pet Consultant associated with the event will earn 10% commission. The fundraiser opportunity is not limited to pet organizations and can be utilized by any 501(c) organization.

Once your Pet Consultant has the required in-fur- mation regarding your fundraiser, The Shure Pets office can create a purr-sonalized webpage for the organization (including a biography and picture). Customers can log onto the webpage and place orders as needed 24/7 until the conclusion of the fundraiser.

Fundraisers are a fun way to share the Shure Pets product line and pet knowledge with new customers, make new friends and bring passionate pet lovers together. We have been able to help so many organizations in the past including: the Kuliga Dog Training Group (Cincinnati, OH) and Save The Animals Foundation (STAF).

With the money raised from their Shure Pets fundraisers the past two years, the Kuliga Dog Training Group was able to help pay for building expenses including rent, insurance, electric and gas. This allowed the group's volunteers and teachers to continue training dogs early through various stages of puppy, agility, and show classes as well as canine good citizen testing.

Additionally, Save The Animals Foundation used their fundraising money for special needs animals and their medical bills. They are one of the only shelters that take in special needs animals in the Cincinnati, OH area.

Thank you Gale W. (#312 Cincinnati, OH) for helping provide the in-fur-mation regarding these fundraisers.

Thank you from the bottom of my paws,

David E. Feld, Shure Pets (david.feld@shurepets.com)

    Shure Pets In The News

Judy Pet Consultant of the Month: Judy M. (#1142)
    Profile of Success!

Judy M. (#1142 Granger, IN) is a relatively new Pet Consultant, having joined the Shure Pets business in April of this year. Judy states, "since that time I have had an absolutely wonder-fur time with Shure Pets! Yes, I have been down the road of other direct-selling ventures including home decor and cooking/baking ware. None, and I mean none, have been as fun and enjoyable as Shure Pets! The time I spend in preparing for my shows, making booking calls, etc. is actually relaxing and enjoyable for me. Then, there's the actual show which is a blast when guests bring their fur-babies! I have three fur-babies of my own: a 7 year-old female Jack Russell Terrior named Sammy and two tabbies, a grey female named Jagboo and an orange male named Pumpkin. I found out about the Shure Pets op'purr'tunity while browsing online checking out home-based sales companies. Up until that point I guess I had not even thought such a concept existed. I was intrigued at once! I did find a competing company but it took only a few minutes of comparing the two to see it was obviously Shure Pets that shined!"

"I have set a lofty, but not unobtainable, long-term goal for myself of being a Top Dog Pet Consultant within five years. My shorter goal is to receive a recognition award at the 2007 Jam-fur-ee. This year at the annual conference I met so many great people! Leah S. (#1066 Brevard, NC) and I have agreed to email each other on a weekly basis to support, encourage and just chat about our businesses. We both want to be as successful as we can be with this company! Just yesterday I had my second recruit sign up and have a couple more gals who are interested. Recruiting is yes, helpful to me, but more importantly helps assure that Shure Pets continues to grow and prosper!"

"Recently I posted on the Shure Pets chatboard some of the ways that I have learned to be successful. First and foremost, you must open your mouth and get that word out about how great Shure Pets products are and what a great company it is! When I do festivals, bazaars and pet events I am NOT there to sell product that day. I am there to BOOK shows, RECRUIT Pet Consultants and get my name out to everyone who stops by my booth. The product will be sold at the shows I schedule and by the people who join the team because they are so impressed with Shure Pets! Recently I had a booth at the Nappanee Apple Festival in Nappanee, IN. It was a Friday, Saturday and Sunday event and thousands of people attended. I left the festival with several booked parties, many people interested in having a show, one recruit who signed up almost literally on the spot, some fundraising opportunities and a lot of interest in the products and company."

"Two of the biggest words in my algorithm for success are 'hostess-coaching' and 'follow-up'. You must keep in contact with your host/hostess on a weekly basis. Update him/her on new products or offers, check and make 'shure' they are inviting their guests timely, give them ideas on others they could invite, encourage them to collect outside orders, etc. At all of my out-of-home events I have a drawing for a product, small gift basket, etc. These drawing slips are my gold mine of leads and potential hostess/recruit information. Call those interested in booking shows within 1-2 days while their interest is still fresh. If someone requests more information get a packet together and mail it pronto!"

"My words of wisdom? 1. Enjoy what you do and have a passion about sharing your enthusiasm with others. 2. Set a goal and make time to reach it. I set aside a minimum of one hour each day to building my business. 3. Utilize the experiences and efforts of others such as the files on our chat board. Likewise, try and give input into the chatboard so others can benefit from your experiences, business-building ideas, etc. Have a 'purr'-ductive business!!"

    Shure Pets Barks of Approval

?Just a quick comment on the wonderful quality of our products. Case in point, I have purchased numerous plush, squeaky toys for my Jack Russell Terrier over the years and each and every time she chews the toys open and rips out the stuffing within minutes to hours. Imagine my pleasure to find that she has been chewing on the big, plush dog bone I purchased from the Pound during Jam-fur-ee on a daily basis and has not managed to disrupt a single thread! It is sewn with nylon thread rather than cotton thread and is very durable.? - Judy M. (#1142 Granger, IN).

?Just wanted to remind everyone that The Pound updated our [Shure Pets replicated] websites with all the new products!! They have lowered prices and have added some great stuff.? -Deanna M. (#486 Goodyear, AZ).

?I LOVE all the new items in the catalog!! Looks like we have so much more to talk about at our parties! I?m especially pleased that The Pound listened to the consultants concerns regarding pricing. That says a whole lot about their support of the consultants.? -Bonnie D. (#508 Gladstone, OR).

?Thank you so much for you help. I cannot wait to see all the new stuff!! My companion Dakota loves her new Yappie meal and I did her paw print [plaster kit] this morning! That is the coolest thing ever!! Cannot wait to show everyone.? -Deb B. (#1488 Saint Francis, MN).

?I have a friend whose cat has itchy skin. He is 24 and is suffering from kidney failure. I sold her the Emu Oil Spray and she said it has helped him immensely. He was pulling his hair out. It has calmed him down and has helped his itchy skin.? -Candy C. (#910 Anderson, IN).

?I haven?t been a consultant for long, but I thought I would share my favorite products so far: My dogs LOVE the Beef Jerky Dog Logs. The pet wipes are AWESOME. They are great for muddy feet and wiping faces after eating, and they don?t irritate my Shar-Pei?s skin like other similar products in the market. Other similar products are also purfumey which can irritate allergies in pets. Shure Pets Pet wipes are more ?soothing? and effective. The boo- boo bandages are great as well, and great to keep on hand for minor cuts and scratches that occur when my doggies play a little rough with each other.? -Rebekka B. (#1509 Houston, TX).

    Purr-fect Pet Health Tips

What can I do when my puppy is teething? Your puppy will begin to get their permanent teeth around four to months of age. There are many things you can do to ease their pain and control the chewing:

    • Give your puppy ice cubes to chew on
    • Soak a clean rag in water, wring it out and then freeze it and give it to your puppy
    • Soften your canine's food by adding a little water
    • Discourage them from biting on your arm or hand for comfort
Puppies lose their teeth in a distinct pattern: first the small front teeth come out. Then the premolars behind the canines. Then the molars in the back come out. Finally the canine teeth come out. During this time, some discomfort, including bleeding gums is to be expected. Your puppy will want to chew more during this period of time, but it may also be too painful to do so. You will probably find few, if any, of the teeth your puppy loses, as puppies typically swallow them.

How are cats claws removed? The procedure is done under general anesthesia and the claw is secured and pulled slightly to expose the first joint (between the first and second phalanx). The incision is made just behind the first digit at the first joint and the tiny bone with the nail is removed. Trying to remove only the nail has not proven to be a good procedure because too many times part of the nail will regrow and further surgery is necessary. Plus a nail remnant can be very uncomfortable for the cat. Rest is recommended for ten days after the surgery. Most cats are slightly uncomfortable for a few days post operatively then get right back to their usual tricks. There should be no bleeding or discharge after the surgery and the toes should heal well.

How quickly can rabbits reproduce? One pair of rabbits in a protected compound reproduced 184 times in 18 months, but this is exceptional. Under good conditions in the wild, an adult female can produce up to 40 young a year - although the rate across Australia varies between 15 and 40 and depends on the length of the breeding season. Few rabbits survive past their first year, with only between 1% and 10% survive more than a year. Females can breed at three months but do not reach full reproductive potential until ten months.
