Paramount Tick and Flea Free Shampoo (#113) will protect your dogs and cats this summer from unpleasant fleas and ticks. The current rains and flooding in much of the country have provided the perfect breeding ground for ticks to thrive (WorldNow, 2008). These pests can "travel farther and spread illness during and after flooding" (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 06/23/08). Paramount Tick and Flea Free Shampoo is your best defense to quickly and efficiently kill fleas and ticks on your pets and keep them from coming back. Make sure to stock up this summer!
Diane S. (#532) of Raleigh, NC is a grandmother of two. She founded the North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue, and she and her husband share their lives with six companion dogs and one cat.
Because Diane loves anything to do with animals and wanted to earn extra money for her Rottweiler Rescue, she joined Shure Pets immedieately at a community dog event. Diane says, "I knew it was right for me."
Diane says she loves Shure Pets because she gets to meet people, both customers and consultant friends who share her concern about the health and well being of pets.
In her own words: "It's great being your own boss, naming your own hours and choosing the level of income you desire. I am especially enjoying my leader training group where I can learn, share and have fun with others as we journey together to success!"
Thanks Diane! We look forward to continued success with you!

Fifteen month gestation period, and still no kittens.
No longer cleans itself unless coated in Cheese Whiz.
Cat door so large it needs a garage door opener
Waits for the third bowl of food to get finicky.
Only catches mice that get trapped in its gravitational pull.
Enormous belly keeps your hardwood floors freshly buffed.
Has more chins than lives
Always lands on her spleen.
Fewer calls to the fire department, but a sudden upsurge in broken branches
Confused guests constantly mistaking her for beanbag chair.

Dear Pet Lover,
Is the United States in a recession? Is $4.00 a gallon gasoline affecting you? Are you affected by recent changes in real estate prices? The pet industry is one of the few sectors of the economy that is projected to show an increase in the dollar spent this year. We are encouraged by what we see in the pet industry and the trend lines continues to show growth.
We combined two dynamic categories, the pet industry and the direct selling/party plan industry, to create Shure Pets. We are the category innovator and today the nation's leading provider of pet products through a network of independent consultants that sell primarily through home parties. We have an extensive line of products for both the pet and the pet lover.
I would like to encourage you to consider our business opportunity. I believe that with our high quality, unique products that the opportunity to be "your own boss" is significant.
Did you know that almost 70% of US households have a pet? Most of those people treat their pets as a member of the family. The bond between a human and their pet is very special.
Last weekend, we hosted our annual conference in Chicago. It was great seeing everyone and giving them a sneak peek at a number of new initiatives that we will be introducing in the coming months to help you reach your goals.
I look forward to working with you.
Regards,
Andrew Shure
Rose H (#2559, McMillan, MI) and Carol M (#1981, Pittsfield, IL) work on their presentations at the annual conference.
Purr-fect Pet Health Tips
Protect Pets from Summer Heat Stroke With the dog days of summer before us, pet owners should beware of the dangers of heatstroke in pets.
Parked cars are potential death traps for pets during the warm months. Even on a mild, sunny day the temperature inside a car can quickly climb to more than 120 F. Never leave your pet alone in a parked car.
If your pet spends most of his time outdoors, make sure there is adequate shelter for protection from the mid-day sun and heat. Outdoor kennels should be well-ventilated and in a shaded area. There should always be some shade for the pet to get out of the sun. Also, make sure there is plenty of fresh drinking water available to your pet. The bowl should be placed in a shaded area where it cannot be heated by the sun. Provide a few bowls in case your pet tips one over.
Exercise is important, but overexertion during hot weather commonly causes heat stress. Avoid excessive exercise during hot days, keep activity to cooler times of day and keep your pet well-groomed. Watch for hair mats, which can retain heat for your animal. The so-called "winter breeds" need to have a healthy undercoat to keep them warm and cool as their hollow hair shafts work both as a source of heat and cooling to their bodies.
The warning signs of heatstroke include panting, staring or anxious expressions, a refusal to obey commands, warm and dry skin, high fever, rapid heartbeat, and possibly vomiting. If your pet shows these signs, lower the body temperature quickly with cool water, either by immersion or by spraying thoroughly with a garden hose. But be careful not to overcool your pet, and never use ice. Call your veterinarian immediately.
Heatstroke is a life-threatening condition that results when pets cannot adequately rid themselves of excess body heat. Pets rely on panting to cool them down as they have no sweat gland like a human being. The dog and cat have glands in the paws, the ears and the rectum, which is a talk about allergies at a later date. Although panting is a very efficient way to control body heat, it is severely limited in areas high humidity or low ventilation. The intake of cool, fresh water improves the cooling effects of panting.
Dogs with pug noses are more likely to develop heatstroke because their small nasal passages make it difficult to circulate sufficient air for cooling. These breeds include the Bulldog, Pug, Boston Terrier, Mastiff, and Persian type cats. Overweight dogs, whose extra layers of fat act as insulation, are also prone to overheating. Age can also be a factor in an animal's tendency to overheat. Very young pets and elderly pets are likely to develop heatstroke. Cats are generally better at regulating their body temperatures, but without appropriate shelter and water, they too can overheat.
Remember to take precautions with your pets as well as yourself in these hot dog days of summer.
"Shure Pets should change their slogan to "OMG! The products REALLY work!"...I recently used the Poop-B-Gone on my Amazon's cage, it was AMAZING! The dried poo came right up! Also, my sister recently used the Anti shed spray on her Jack Russell/Beagle mix, who really sheds a lot, and she said, giggling "It really works!"...It is a great feeling to know that the products you sell REALLY work." -Christine H. (#2268, Largo, FL)
"I am always on the look out for quality food and products to make sure that they always have the best. That's a big reason why I chose Shure Pets. They are products that I would use on my own animals. I'm just getting started and am already excited to see all of the interest I am getting in the Shure Pets line. I am also thrilled to receive so much support from the Pound. I'm really looking forward to my first party. It's going to be a lot of fun." -Bonnie V. (#2587, Brooksville, FL)
"I just got my "New Puppy on The Block" kit today. What fun! :-) My older cat smelled either the mackerel treats or the mouse toy through the cardboard, and was very helpful getting the box open! She loves the mackerel treats. My younger cat quickly hijacked the mouse toy! Everybody's happy today!" -Wren H. (#2570, Chandler, AZ)
"I have made the Garlic Cheese cookies and the Peanut Butter Oatmeal. The Garlic Cheese are my favorite out of the two to make and my dogs love them!" -Deb B. (#1488, St. Francis, MN)
"I have used Ultimutt Joint relief on Kodak for over 2 years. His hip quit growing when he was 4 mos old. He's had surgery and is 14 yrs. old now. He used to have quite a limp or hold his leg up a lot. Now he walks on all fours really well. I told my sister in law about it and her dog (lab) has also had hip surgery and the drugs were costing her a fortune. I finally convinced her to try our Joint Relief and after just a month there was such a dramatic change that friends were asking her if they had had surgery again. She is completely sold on it as well." - Bonnie D. (#508, Gladstone, OR)
"(Ultimutt Joint Relief) Works GRRReat! I use it on my 12 yr old Brittany. He moves easier and with more confidence." -Elud A. (#2277, Commerce City, CO)
