On the weekend of March 18th-20th, Shure Pets, with the wonder-fur assistance of Pet Consultants Randi S. (#0066 Napperville, IL), Jennifer J. (#0300 Waukesha, WI), Maureen S. (#0074 Chicago, IL) Marcia M. (#0192, Custer Park, IL) and Danika M (#0246 Braidwood, IL), participated in the 2005 Chicagoland Family Pet Expo at the Arlington Race Track in Arlington Heights, IL. This fun pet show was open to the general public and was a great family event. The three day event allowed purr- tential Pet Consultants to see first-hand the Shure Pets product line and better understand the business opportunity. We grrr-eatly look forward to returning to the 2006 Family Pet Expo!

In the April 2005 edition of Pet Product News (The leader in Pet Supplies marketing for 59 years), Shure Pets is featured in an article titled, "Pupperware Parties on the Rise." The article discusses the advantages of Pet Parties and the fun associated with our fundraising programs.

In early March, Shure Pet's Paramount Medicated Shampoo (#101) was discussed in the Delta Airline's Sky Magazine. They write "A good brushing is best backed up by a good bath. Paramount Medicated Shampoo ($12) from Shure Pets transformed the looks of a senior Great Dane in our midst. Her coat went from dry and dull to shiny and silky after just one bath." On April 2, 2005, The San Antonio Express-News ran an editorial on Shure Pets. In it, they state "Direct home sales are going to the dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets. The Avon lady and Tupperware and Pampered Chef consultants have new competition...The 2-year-old company [Shure Pets] offers everything you ever wanted to buy for your pampered pet and then some."

Shure Pets University Our Shure Pets University (SPU) training program meets once a month at the Corporate Office, in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood. At SPU, we discuss the Pet Consultant business opportunity, developing marketing and public relations plans, the Shure Pets product line, growing your Shure Pets business and more. All Pet Consultants are invited and encouraged to attend SPU, as there is much that can be gained during this hands-on gathering. Nina H. (#0309) is a proud Mom to two rottie boys: Blitz, age six, an AKC Champion (aka Champion's Von Braun's Be the Boss CGC) and rescued Brody, age one and a half (aka NERR's Brodeur #1311). Nina (or Mrs. April as she now calls herself) lives with her husband of 15 years and their wonderful dogs in Northern New Jersey (Oak Ridge).

As a volunteer with a Rottweiler rescue group, Nina is always looking for simple ways to raise funds. "Someone recommended Shure Pets, so I started doing my research. Hmm. Pet Parties, I've never heard of it but I LOVED the idea. I continued to read more. Consulting. Hmmm. I thought, I can do that!"

In November 2004, Nina sent in her agreement form, joining the "Best in Show" team. Once her New Puppy on the Block Kit arrived it was love at first sight! Nina states, "The products are superior quality, the staff at corporate IS the BEST and I knew from that moment that I was hooked."

Nina's personal team has already grown by leaps and bounds; she recently recruited her 7th Pet Consultant and also has begun growing her 2nd generation. She explains, "Being part of a team has helped me in many ways; the support we offer each other is priceless. It's hard for me to look at Shure Pets as a job, it is more like a recommendation, I enjoy the products so much that I am just recommending them to everyone I know."

Our average order in March was $133.81 This was led by expos occurring nationwide and a number of large fundraisers. The average sales generated at a Pet Party was $443.36 Additionally, several successful fundraisers were held in the month with an average size of $318.28

According to a WSL Strategic Retail survey featured in Pet Age, the increase for Pet Supplies in 2004 was almost twice as much as the increase for food, and almost three times as much as the increase for hair care and prescription drugs. In fact, pet supplies have been the fastest growing category since 2000.

Dogs: It is a wise idea to get involved in an activity or sport with you canine friend. Multiple benefits will result from such activities, the most important being a stronger bond between you and your canine. Cats: Despite a common misconception, cats are not showing affection when they rub against you with the back of their head and the rest of their body. Horses: Is your horse stall stinky and messy? Help deodorize a smelly stall by sprinkling a liberal amount of baking soda around all wet areas. To keep your horse from spreading his hay all over, use an old tractor tire to hold the hay in. If your horse enjoys playing with things, make "shure" you tie them down so trouble does not occur!

Pets: Unfortunately, there are far too many homeless animals. Lost pets without tags usually end up being put to sleep at shelters if they lose their way from home. Worse off are the pets who never had homes at all. There just are not enough good homes for all the animals out there, so have your pets spayed or neutered! If you are considering adding another pet, consider adoption.

At the conference we will discuss all areas of your Shure Pets business including products, marketing, and recruiting. We will recognize and celebrate our Pet Consultants' accomplishments as well as discuss the future direction of the company.
