    Shure Pets Pet Gazette
    Volume IV Edition III
    March 2005

Dear Pet Lover~ The opening months of 2005 have been exciting and are laying down the foundation for the duration of the year. February sales were 62% greater than January's total. The Shure Pets nationwide Valentine's Day Weekend Event attained great success and led to our most successful weekend in our young history. We have signed up nearly 70 new Pet Consultants in 2005 already. Our Paramount Medicated Shampoo (#101) was featured in Delta's Sky Magazine. Additionally, Pet Consultants continue to gain valuable information from our Tuesday weekly conference calls and Shure Pets University training sessions.

I would also like to thank Rob M. (#0194 Shickshinny, PA) for developing the idea that the Shure Pets internal staff creates its own team name (similar to each Pet Consultant team name). Based on his idea, the Shure Pets Corporate Staff can now also be referred to as "The Pound".

If you would like more in-fur-mation on Shure Pets, hosting or attending a fun Pet Party or purchasing Shure Pets Products, please contact us at info@shurepets.com or call toll free at 1-888- SHURE-PETS (1-888-748-7373). We look forward to hearing from you, helping you em-bark on your Shure Pets journey or assisting you in reaching your purr- sonal and purr-fessional goals.

Thank you from the bottom of our paws,

    Andrew Shure, Shure Pets, Founder

Thank you for all who participated in making this event a success. The winner of the $100.00 Shure Pets Credit for achieving the greatest number of retail sales for the weekend is Pet Consultant Gale W. (#0312 Cincinnati, OH) . Pictured above is Pet Consultant Laura T. (#0342 Jacksonville, FL) from her Valentine's Pet Party.

On the weekend of March 18th-20th, Shure Pets (and several Pet Consultants) will be participating in the 2005 Chicagoland Family Pet Expo at the Arlington Race Track in Arlington Heights, IL. This fun pet show is open to the general public and is a great family event. Shure Pets will have a corner booth (#229 on the 1st floor) and we look forward to seeing you at the show. Show Times: Friday 2am-7 pm, Saturday 9am-7pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm. For more information check out www.petchicago.com or contact Shure Pets at 1-888-748-7373

Shure Pets University Our Shure Pets University (SPU) training program meets once a month at the Corporate Office, in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood. At SPU, we discuss the Pet Consultant business opportunity, developing marketing and public relations plans, the Shure Pets product line, growing your Shure Pets business and more. All Pet Consultants are invited and encouraged to attend SPU, as there is much that can be gained during this hands-on gathering. If you cannot make a Shure Pets University session but are in the Chicago area and would like to meet the Shure Pets team, please call to schedule an appointment. We enjoy meeting each and every one of our Pet Consultants, hearing your opinions and suggestions.

Please mark your calendars now for the next Shure Pets University Programs. The next SPUs will be held on Tuesday, April 5, Tuesday, May 3 and Tuesday, June 7. Shure Pets is located at 1556 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL. Following each two-hour training session is Shure Pets' monthly "Meet and Greet" event, which is open to prospective Pet Consultants. The "Meet and Greet" session begins at 4:00 p.m. Advance reservations are required for Shure Pets University so we can plan accordingly. Please call 1.888.SHURE.PETS or email info@shurepets.com. We look forward to seeing you at SPU!

Tuesday Weekly Conference Calls: Shure Pets began weekly conference calls with Pet Consultants and Pet Consultant Teams during the previous few months with grr-eat success. This idea sharing with other Pet Consultants and the Shure Pets staff has proven beneficial to everyone involved. Pet Consultants learned about current activities being planned by the Corporate Office team. Pet Consultants also had the opportunity to provide feedback and learn how to make their own businesses successful. To be included on a conference call or to schedule your team meeting via conference call, you need to RSVP at least 24 hours before the call. Note: Only the first 10 people to RSVP for a conference call will be accepted. Space is limited so RSVP early. Please email Kristina at kristina.meyer@shurepets.com to schedule a time and date for your call. We will send you more in-fur-mation and instructions for your participation in the conference call once your reservation has been made. Featured Pet Consultant: Gale W. (#0312)

Gale's (Cincinnati, OH) family includes her husband Dave, sons Brian and Ben and her dog Toby. Toby is believed to be part Sheltie and part Husky - with a dash of Shepherd. When Toby found Gale, they had just lost their beloved 15 year old Husky, Candice, and their vet was looking for a good home for a shy dog. Gale says that they would love to have cats but allergies in the family cause a problem. Additionally, Gale's family has an 18 year old Cockatiel named Cliff. Tropical fish, gardening and bird watching are a big part of her family as well.

Gale states, "This fall I became restless, knowing that my youngest son's Cub Scouting journey was winding down. He would be joining his older brother in Boy Scouts and my Den Mom, committee positions, district activities and fund raising would be coming to an end. Pets, wildlife and nature have always been a passion for me and luckily the boys have it too! My 13 year old would like to be a naturalist and my 11 year old talks about working with pets. What if I could find a business that involved pets? There had to be something out there! So, I Googled a bit and it did not take me long to find Shure Pets. I must have spent the entire day looking through the website, checking out the products and reading all the newsletters. Needless to say, I was signed up with Shure Pets by the next week."

"I love the idea of fundraising and volunteering. There are so many shelters, rescue groups and other causes that can benefit from Shure Pets. The products just seem to sell by themselves and everyone I meet just loves the idea of Shure Pets. Pets always seem to come up in conversations and people are truly passionate about their pet companions. Everywhere I go I carry business cards and catalogs; it all starts from there."

"It 'shure' is exciting to be on the ground floor of a young and vibrant company. I cannot say enough about the support we get from Kristina, David and Andrew. The Shure Pets chat group is also another great resource. We too, have started a young team here in Cincinnati. It is wonderful to learn from others and to share your ideas, challenges and successes. I intend to grow with and be involved in Shure Pets for a long, long time".

We look forward to Gale's continued success and happiness for a long, long time as well!

    Tips for Purr-fect Pet Health

Dogs: Is your canine a constant barker? Try using calm commands while teaching your pet that silence is golden. Loud, angry hollered commands may result in distress to your pup, making it difficult for him to relax and settle down. However, training your dog with commands of "no" or "quiet," said in a firm voice can be very effective. Be "shure" to use the command while your dog is yapping, then reward him immediately with praise as soon as he has a moment of silence.

Cats: It is critical that you brush your kitty often to help maintain proper health. Begin at the tip of the fur and gently work deeper into his coat to prevent the brush from getting caught in tangles or clumps of hair. Brush in the direction of your cat's coat; going against the grain can irritate his skin. Try placing a piece of old pantyhose over the head of a brush before grooming to ease the cleanup process. The bristles will still poke through, but you have to do is pull up the pantyhose to discard the hair. Keep brushes in various places in your house so your cat can be treated to a spur-of-the-moment grooming as needed.

Birds: Be prepared in case your bird ever gets lost or is stolen. It is a wise idea to have a pet identification system in place. You should carry pictures of your pet with you displaying any identifying or prominent features. You might want to consider placing a small leg band on your pet as a precautionary device as well. Finally, it is also a good idea to teach your "talking" bird to repeat his home address and/or your telephone number.

Ferrets: It is best to bathe ferrets approximately every two months. Bathing a ferret too often will dry out their skin resulting in increased secretion of oil. Bathe them under a faucet or in a sink with the faucet continuously running at lukewarm temperature. Rinse thoroughly. Rub the ferret dry in a fluffy bath towel starting at the head. Lots of coaxing and reassuring words help the bathing process run smoothly. Shure Pets shampoos and conditioners have been specially formulated to be effective on your ferret.
